At Wisner & Wisner we charge a flat fee for representation. This way the client is not charged at an hourly rate and the client knows exactly what is expected of them. The fee includes representation from arraignment, discovery and plea negotiation, motions, hearings and a bench trial. The fee includes representation at the Department of Motor Vehicles if there is a chemical test refusal hearing. It also includes representation on the ancillary traffic tickets that came with the DWI charge. We also have monthly payment plans so the entire flat fee is not due up front. The amount of the flat fee depends on whether it is a misdemeanor or a felony, the county, the court, the blood alcohol level and whether the case involves a crash. We offer a free legal consultation to discuss the case and assess what the flat fee will be.
DWI Defense Experts
At our office meeting we will discuss whether we recommend retaining a accident reconstruction expert, a forensic toxicologist, pharmacist, investigator, drug recognition expert or former law enforcement officer. The client will pay the fee of the expert up front. The fee varies depending upon whether the expert is local or national and how many days of time are required. Experts are more often used in DWAI drugs cases and accident cases.
