Student
Interns |
|
|
|
Over the years
student interns have come from the University of Rochester, Colgate
University, Boston College, Nazareth College, SUNY Geneseo, and
SUNY Brockport. Interns have later gone on to attend law
school at Albany, Syracuse, Boston University, Boston College,
University of Pennsylvania and Columbia.
|
|
| |
There
are several reasons for spending a semester or year as an intern.
Students can gain law firm experience prior to law school to decide
if a career in law is really what they desire. Other students
are seeking a favorable recommendation to add to their law school
application. And other students seek real work experience
while getting college credit.
|
|
| |
Most of the
local universities will allow students to obtain college credit
for working as an intern. Usually the university requires
a set minimum hours worked together with a paper written about
the work experience or on a particular legal topic. Wisner
& Wisner, LLP, encourages students seeking
college credit to send a resume together with their class schedule
and let us know if there are other commitments, such as employment,
that the student has. The student should submit this information
to the recruiting coordinator. (See, hiring information)
